Learning for Life Programme: Character and Youth Leadership through Service

The school’s vision of developing ‘Leader of Self, Person of Influence’ is achieved through a vibrant Values in Action (VIA) programme that takes a segmented approach to meet the needs of their students, we provide hands-on activities that involve students in planning and conceptualisation in order for real and enduring learning to take place. Students from the different levels engage the community through their respective projects, designing their own customised community engagement efforts based on their interests and Service Learning skills. Through participating in community work, students develop a sense of belonging and commitment towards the school, community and the world.

The school’s robust LLP has equipped students to play an active role in meeting community needs. This is evident as  East View students have established the school as an asset to the community. Residents look to them for assistance and inspiration. Through its whole-school and level-based thematic approach, students have taken full ownership of VIA projects and participated in meaningful and purposeful level-based humanitarian and environmental projects that serve community needs. The school provides meaningful and authentic platforms to ensure that students develop a heart to serve and grow their leadership competencies through service.
